Situated on a quiet little farm in Augrabies overlooking vineyards on the banks of the Orange River and the rocky mountains of Namibia, you get to experience the tranquility and serenity of a simpler, slower-paced life, where you can actually see stars and the Southern Cross in the night sky. Our lush green lawns around the pool and the simple beauty of our teff fields are a camper’s delight. Don’t have a tent or caravan? No worries – rent a tent from us. We also just reopened our first double room and are working on bringing you more accommodation options.
Have a braai at the boma under a 350 year old Camel Thorn Tree, fetch eggs for your breakfast from the chicken coop, pick your own tomatoes and other in season fruits and vegetables for your salads and other meals, taste our delicious goats milk yoghurt, cheeses and butter or try your hand at milking a goat! Take a dip in the pool, go on hikes, go river rafting or on a fishing trip, go birdwatching, go for a sunset cruise on a river barge, visit the spectacular Augrabies National Falls and our national parks, take a morning or night game drive… You will run out of time before you run out of things to do in this little piece of paradise that we call home.

Izelle and Jenni were very welcoming and accommodating after a long day of driving and gave us a great farm experience – we really enjoyed their delicious fresh produce which lasted days after we left. They were also amazing with advice on where to go around Augrabies and we loved their beautiful pool after a day out. Their place was a great central home base with plenty if activities in the area. We will always have very fond memories of our stay at Augrabies Backpackers over Dec 2020. Thank you Izelle and Jenni.

Augrabies Backpackers is a real hidden treasure between green Plantages. We enjoyed watching sunsets/-rises and relaxed on the little organic farm, while the dogs, geeses, cats etc.jumped around us and the very helpful, pleasant and powerful owners worked in the beautiful garden. We were even allowed to milk the 2 goats!;-) highly recommended
Staying at the Augrabies Backpackers was a nice change from Cape Town city life and you will be part of a working farm with goats, sheep, chickens, geese, turkeys, cats and dogs as well as vegetables and a plant nursery.
I received a warm welcome and was shown around the farm on arrival that was much appreciated. All the people living on the farm showed me warmth and respect and were very welcoming.
I enjoyed the swimming pool and used it many times to cool off as it gets a little warm in Augrabies.
Those families with young children will really enjoy petting the friendly goats, sheep, dogs and cats.
May God bless this wonderful place to really prosper and thanks to each one of you for your kindness and hospitality that made my stay enjoyable.
A pleasant place to spend the night and lots in the area to see and do. A hostess who does not mind going the extra mile to make your stay comfortable and convenient. Thank you for the ice in the ice hockey, 5l bottle of ice cold water already in the fridge and nice grapes to make you feel welcome.
The room has everything one needs and if you do not feel like driving for entertainment there is about a zoo with a large variety of animals on site to view and a swimming pool to dive in if the heat leaves you melt.
